Winter Happenings

Hi People!
It’s always so long between posts, but I aspire to do better in 2011! I have so much to blog about that I wonder if my fingers won’t be sore when I’m finally done! I suppose I’ll just highlight a few things and be done with it!

Life:It’s December now and the holidays are upon us! Luckily, even though I’ve had tons of birthday cake this Oct and Nov., and lots of Thanksgiving food, I haven’t put on any weight! What does this mean? It means I’m free to be a glutton this Christmas! Yaay!

Well, it does mean that, doesn’t it?

I turned 32 this November and am feeling really good about life in general. For my birthday, I got an acoustic guitar, so one day, when I actually learn to play it, I’m gonna add musician to my string of talents! Better watch out now!

Lol, I’m a goofnut, I know. But at least I know it, right?

My son is now one, his birthday is exactly one week before mine. My daughter is three now, which means she’s a riot.

The other day, I was changing my son’s diaper and he flipped out of my grasp and stood up on the couch, bare for all to see. He then, with the most mischievous little smile on his face, proceeds to pee all over the couch. Although this is hilarious to see, I’m immediately thrown into damage control mode, picking him up and placing him on the carpet, saying, uselessly “No, don’t do that!”
My daughter runs to him, wags her finger and says in the most motherly tone a three year old can muster, “Little brother, let me tell you something! You can’t pee on our house!”

Laughter is truly the best medicine.

And because I’m excited about them, I will post our 2010 family Christmas card for all to see. The photos from that session are interesting because usually my son smiles non-stop, but ironically it was like pulling teeth to get him to remove his frown the entire session. As always, we used our favorite, most prized photographer, Megan Parker at http://www.growing-love.com/. We’ve purchased the rights to this photo session so I can post without the disclaimer; however she’s so good that I have no problems sending her kudos!

Writing:My last agent and I have parted ways (this summer actually) and I have begun querying again. I think my search is just about over, though. I don’t mean to tease you, but nothing has been finalized yet. More news to follow shortly!

In the meantime, I’ve decided to start a website to enhance my web presence. Check me out at http://www.nicieconleymurphy.com/. Let me know what you think!
